Nothing Like a Little Update....Thanksgiving Giveaway!

Today, I was super duper busy and productive in all things Teachers Pay Teachers! I have two oldie but goodies that I finally had a chance to update! Both resources have fresh new clip art and new pages that help give each one a little more flexibility for your class.

I always loved doing these with my kiddos each year. The cross-curricular aspect of this activity allowed me to pull together so much into each lesson and the students just LOVED writing about the story and people of the First Thanksgiving (not to mention is makes such a great holiday treat for their parents)!

I would love to giveaway a copy of each resource to one lucky winner!
All you have to do is enter in the rafflecopter and make sure to leave me a comment about your favorite Thanksgiving Tradition!

My favorite Thanksgiving Tradition is watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I love anything that has to do with New York City and it just isn't the holiday season without Santa and the end of the big parade!

Hurry and enter! Giveaway ends on Tuesday and will be announced on Facebook

A HUGE GIVEAWAY!

I am so excited to be able to share this FABULOUS and HUGE giveaway with you! Meg over at The Teacher Studio is having a HUGE giveaway to celebrate her new blog name and design. Her blog looks so super cute! If you are a new follower, HI! So glad that you are here!

Each day there are 12 bloggers/TpTers that are letting the winner choose $10 worth of stuff from their store! That is $120 of prizes the winner! It's awesome and the resource that these teachers make are AMAZING, so you will definitely want to check it out!

Today's teachers are 4th and 5th grade sellers, including me. I have learned so much from all these amazing bloggers and am so lucky to be included in this awesome group of teachers and TpT sellers!

Here are the important details... you have 2 days to enter to win each day's prize package. You can enter any and all of the giveaways.

Since this is an "all new" giveaway...

I wanted to share with you my latest little creation!  It took me the longest time to finish (well, technically is in a work in progress but I was so excited that I posted it to TpT at a discounted price).

They are called Duck Bucks and I am in LOVE! My kiddos love them and they have made for a great incentive in the classroom. It's a fun twist on the ticket system and with all these really cute graphics the kids can't help but be excited when they see them! They come in three different printing options (black and white, semi-color and full color) for whatever your printing needs may be. I will be adding to this resource as I implement it in class and when I do the price will be adjusted. But remember, on of the best things about TpT is that if you have purchased a resource and it is updated, you get all those updates for FREE! Duck Bucks is currently $3.50 but as I add to it, the price will go up.

I'll also be
updating
these fun little resources just in time for the holidays!

Make sure to go by The Teacher's Studio and show her some bloggy love and don't forget to follow me on Teachers Pay Teachers, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and BlogLovin'!

Timesavers with Blog Hoppin'

Wow..oh ...wow! I have been so super busy this school year getting my feet under me in a new grade! I absolutely love fourth grade so far and am so excited to finally be able to get back on some. What of a schedule to blog again!

I am joining my sweet friends at Blog Hoppin' to share couple of time savers that have rally saved me this year! It has been a fabulously crazy year but these little hints have saved me!

When I am grading, I always use Groovy Grader. It is an app that resembles our old green Easy Grader (oh you know what I am talking about...LOL)! I have it installed on both my iPhone and iPad and it is so convenient when I am grading just about anywhere! It's a must have for sure!

Here's a little video that talks about this awesome app!

Another fabulous way that I save time is using Dropbox. This has to be my favorite way to store and access my files and allows me to be able to work on lesson plans, class resources and products for Teachers Pay Teachers just about anytime, anywhere. Now more carrying a 5 or 6 flash drives! All I need is right there in any computer that I have installed it on or through the iPad and iPhone apps. I save times imply not having to chase down my flash drives...LOL!

I really saw how this was helpful while I was creating Duck Bucks: An Incentive Program! I was able to open all my graphics files and PowerPoint to work just about anywhere. It allowed me to work on it away from my home computer and I would simply save to Dropbox. When I arrived home, the copy that I had worked on was there ready for me to make more changes and continue on my way to completing this fun little resource.

My last favorite little time saver is one that I hope that you use too! When I am lesson planning, there are usually three tabs open on my computer...
1. District Curriculum
3. Pinterest

I can not tell you how amazing resources I have found on both Teachers Pay Teachers and Pinterest. Now, I think it is very important to really do your research and make sure that what you find what truly fits your curriculum and is a resource that is valuable and not just fun, cute or otherwise irrelevant. Saving time can't compromise quality but I know that there are some amazing resources that there for your use!

Make sure to stop by Blog Hoppin' where we have a super fabulous linky that you can join!

My most amazing news EVER!

I don't know about you but I have a 'bucket list'.

I have a personal one with tons of travel destinations, random acts of kindness and things I want to accomplish before my time on this gorgeous Earth is over.

I also have a professional list. Oh YES! I have a list of goals that I want to accomplish in my career to both enrich my students and grow as an educator. One of the items on this list is to visit the Ron Clark Academy in Atalanta, Georgia. I have been so inspired by the dedication and innovation in education that is present at RCA that I knew, someday, I had to see it with my own eyes. See it in action, live and have the ability to take in the excitement and limitless learning potential that is overflowing at RCA.

It's no secret. I love Ron Clark and everything that he does for education. His books are awesome and all have a common theme. Find the best and amazing potential in each student and be the best for them because they depend on us. Find your passion and let it permeate every moment in the classroom. Let it seep out of every pore so that those around you KNOW you genuinely love what you do everyday. We are critical in what happens in the classroom and by being reflective of what we do throughout our experience with children, we can inspire children to become amazing members of the world community.

If you haven't read his books, they are a must for every teacher.
You will be inspired in ways you never thought possible.

After saying all this, I have exciting news.
My Principal, who also is a huge believer in what Mr. Clark has accomplished, has decided to send this little teacher to.....RCA!!

I am over the MOON with excitement!!
I have booked my flight and I can't wait to attend the conference in November!

I can't hardly believe it....I still want to pinch myself to see if I am dreaming! I am so excited and will be celebrating this awesome news with a fabulous book study coming soon....

Currently...and YES I am still here...

HOWDY!

Oh my goodness, I have missed blogging these last couple of weeks! As you can probably guess, I went back to school about 2 weeks ago and have been SUPER busy! This has been a great start to a new school year, I think probably the best one ever! The kiddos I have this year are former students of mine from when I taught first and second (they looped with me and now we are together for a 3rd school year!) I seriously LOVE this class and we have already hit the ground running! They are part of my support system as I navigate the new curriculum of 4th grade. Everything else is pretty much falling into place, but discovering new curriculum and what it needs to look like in the lessons I plan is definitely a learning curve. My fourth graders are so independent and I am looking for the perfect balance of my primary minded instruction and their ability to do complete the task with less support from me. This is a year of learning for me too but I am ALWAYS up to the challenge!

I am linking up with my sweet friend Farley from Oh Boy 4th Grade to share my CURRENTLY...

I just love this monthly blog post by Farley! Definitely a great way to stop for just a moment in time and reflect about all that is happening at that moment!

As I am writing this post, I am so esuper excited to say that Teaching with Curls and a Smile on Facebook now has over 1500 likes! I am SO excited and can't wait to have a little giveaway to say thank you for all your LOVE and SUPPORT!

Make sure to stop by Teaching with Curls and a Smile!
I'll be announcing something exciting very soon to celebrate!
