Rolling with punches....ouch! :(

I wen to TpT today and was so sad that someone did not care for my Pirate Unit....{insert biggest frownie face possible here}.  I worked so hard on that very first "big" product and have recieved such great feedback from so many people {Thank you, thank you, thank you!} but now my little project....my baby for TpT...the project that took me most of my spring break to make... has one vote and a 1.8 rating.

I know that the business world can be tough and I am really trying to roll with the punches and know that everyone won't like everything all the time but it kills me that when I see my listing, it has that awful rating because of one vote.

What would you do?
I would love your advice!

I did not buy the Pirate unit because I won it but I love it. Can I vote even if I did not purchase it???

I don't know anyone would give it a low rating because it is very cute! Now that I know it is there I need to go buy it! Maybe the person rated it low due to the price more than the quality of the product??? I don't know!
You did a great job!

That stinks and I'm so sorry it happened to you. Did they leave any comment to let you know why? I've read on the TPT forum that you can delete the product and then just repost it and it will wipe away that comment. I'm not positive that it'll work, but it's worth a shot I'd think.

Yes, you can delete the product and relist it and the negative feedback will disappear! I always worry when I get a "your product received a comment" email from TPT. I know I will eventually get a negative comment and I hope I don't take it too personally. You can't please everyone all the time and if they can't read the description and look at the previews and see it's not what they want then shame on them!

Awe so sorry! I had this one woman who would only download my free items and then give me negative comments on them. She criticized my "snowman poop" for being crude humor for first graders. Not like I told her she had to download the free item! She mentioned my blog in one other comment! I asked Paul if I could block her from downloading my free items. He said, no but that he could delete the comments and let me know if she commented again. I wonder if it is the same woman? I was steaming mad. How dare someone complain about something they got for free! After the second comment, I thought she was out to get me.
Anyway, I understand how you feel. Anytime we do something creative, it is like we are putting a little bit of ourselves out there.

Thank you ladies! Reading your comments made me feel so much better. Teachers Pay Teachers is very unique because we are the authors. We tend to live and breath what we do for children each and everyday. Hopefully, people that our purchasing our products will remember that :)

I loved the 1st comment-Michelle Tanner, "how rude!" Some people are jealous it wouldn't matter if it was the absolute BEST unit ever published they would never let others know how they "really" feel! Send me the information and I will gladly go purchase it and give it RAVE reviews! I feel sure it is one of the best!

Everytime I go on TPT I think of your post here and I try to leave feedbakc for people! The part that really got me was when someone mentioned that people left negative feedback about a free item! How rude is that! I hope you feel better about it after all the encouraging comments and above all don't let it stop you from creating material. The haters will always hate so ignore them!

That is so frustrating! I always get nervous as well when I post a TpT item because I worry that someone will not like it. You do a great job and do not get discouraged.
